NASW Standards for Integrating Genetics into Social Work Practice recognize and respond to the expanded information on the human genome and its impact on social work practice and education. They are designed to enhance awareness of the skills, knowledge, values, methods, and sensitivity needed to work effectively with clients, families, health care providers, and the community in the area of genetics.
