About the Editors


Patricia L. Ewalt, PhD, is dean and professor, School of Social Work, University of Hawaii, Honolulu. She has an MSW from Simmons College School of Social Work and a PhD in health care policy, research, and administration from the Florence Heller School for Advanced Studies in Social Welfare, Brandeis University, Waltham, Massachusetts. She was the editor of Social Work from 1993 to 1997.

Edith M. Freeman, PhD, is professor, University of Kansas School of Social Welfare, Lawrence. She has an MSW from the University of Kansas School of Social Welfare and a PhD from the Departments of Psychology and Human Development and Family Life. She was the editor of Social Work in Education from 1994 to 1998.

Anne E. Fortune, PhD, is professor, School of Social Work, University at Albany, State University of New York. She has a PhD from the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration. She is the current editor of Social Work Research.

Dennis L. Poole, PhD, is professor, University of Central Florida, Orlando. He has an MSW from West Virginia University and a PhD from the Florence Heller School for Advanced Studies in Social Welfare, Brandeis University, Waltham, Massachusetts. He was the editor of Health & Social Work from 1995 to 1998.

Stanley L. Witkin, PhD, is professor, Department of Social Work, University of Vermont. He has an MSW and a PhD from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He is the current editor of Social Work.
