Patricia L. Ewalt, PhD, is dean and professor, School of Social Work, University of
Hawaii, Honolulu. She has a master’s degree in social work from Simmons College
School of Social Work and a PhD in health care policy, research, and administration from
the Florence Heller School for Advanced Studies in Social Welfare, Brandeis University,
Waltham, Massachusetts. She was the editor of Social Work from 1993 to 1997.
Edith M. Freeman, PhD, is professor, University of Kansas School
of Social Welfare, Lawrence. She has an MSW from the University of Kansas School of Social
Welfare and a PhD from the Departments of Psychology and Human Development and Family
Life. She was the editor of Social Work in Education from 1993 to 1997.
Dennis L. Poole, PhD, is professor, University of Central
Florida, Orlando. He has an MSW from West Virginia University and a PhD from the Florence
Heller School for Advanced Studies in Social Welfare, Brandeis University, Waltham,
Massachusetts. He is the editor of Health & Social Work.
