NASW Standards for Clinical Social Work in Social Work Practice is intended to guide clinical social workers in all clinical settings. The goals of the standards are to maintain or improve the quality of services provided by clinical social workers; establish professional expectations to assist social workers in monitoring and evaluating their clinical practice; provide a framework for clinical social workers to assess responsible, professional behavior; and inform consumers, government regulatory bodies, and others about the professional standards for clinical social work practice.
